End-of-the-Rainbow Cookies

Layers of different-colored dough are rolled into a log for these slice-and-bake rainbows. They're baked and halved into arcs while warm, then the lucky pots of gold are added. Allow time for chilling and freezing the dough, the actual hands-on cookie making and baking takes just over an hour.

    I actually haven't tried it. I'm concerned that the recipe amounts in the Living magazine and the ones here are not the same. 1/3 c less flour, 1 stick less butter, 3/4 tsp less salt, no milk vs 1/3 c milk in magazine, lower temperature 350 degrees vs 325 in magazine Now I'm afraid to try either recipe. Explanation please..

      Hello! The test kitchen retested the recipe with a different cookie dough and the version that is online is the correct version which produces crisp, colorful, and delicious cookies.
