This Little Piggy is about to come in very handy. In Chinese astrology, 2019 is the Year of the Pig (aka a chance to fatten up your wallet).

Introduction

We gave this pink leather coin purse a porcine makeover with fabric glue, but if you're more advanced in skill, this project makes good practice for how to sew leather by hand too.

steps

  1. To make the ears and snout: Cut snippets of light-pink leather with fabric scissors, then attach to purse with a dab of fabric glue.

  2. To make the eyes: Cut leather dots with a Japanese hole punch, then attach to purse with dabs of fabric glue.

  3. To make the nostrils and mouth: Cut two lengths of leather cord, curl into shape, then attach to purse with dabs of fabric glue.

  4. To make the curly tail: Cut a length of flat leather cord; open at the seam and place a wire inside; glue the cord back together, and twirl it around a pencil to shape it.
