Yesterday, Buckingham Palace received its holiday evergreens and an abundance of ornaments to deck the halls. In keeping with tradition, three trees—firs grown on the grounds at Windsor—were erected in the magnificent Marble Hall and strung with rows of twinkling string lights. Hanging on the branches of each tree are miniature English crown and carriage ornaments. Each is embellished with tiny gems, exquisite beading work, and glittery accents. Some of the crowns sport an embroidered "palace" across the front. Cascading along the staircase railing: a grand garland is seen adorned with colorful baubles in regal purples and blues, festive reds and golds, and fun pops of pink.
Then again, we wouldn't expect any less from the Queen whose palace is now officially ready for holiday festivities, including her traditional pre-Christmas lunch with the rest of the Royal Family. And if you don't have any plans to visit her Majesty this month to take in the festive splendour yourself, you can still bring a piece of Buckingham to your own tree with these charming crown ornaments, available online from the palace's official shop. (Just don't forget to sip your Christmas cocoa with pinkies up.)
