Crepe-Paper String Lights

Add color to your holiday decor with these whimsical bulbs. A set also makes a sweet mini garland, tree decoration, or gift topper.

materials

  • Packing peanuts

  • Miniature papier-mâché egg forms (Pictured: Darice Craft Designer papiermâché eggs, 2 1/2", $3 for 6, unitednow.com.)

  • Green crepe paper, plus more in assorted bright colors (Pictured: Castle in the Air crepe paper, in assorted colors, from $2 for 8 ft., castleintheair.biz.)

  • Green string

  • Craft glue

  • Scissors

  1. For each "light," glue half of a packing peanut onto an egg form to create bulb shape, then wrap base in green paper and top in a bright color; attach to string with glue. Repeat for each "light" until you have a set of them.
