A touch of sweet-tart cranberry sauce adds intrigue (and color!) to this tequila-and-grapefruit cocktail. For a smokier drink, use mezcal as the base spirit.
Run grapefruit wedge around the rim of a highball glass; dip rim in margarita salt. Fill glass with ice. Add tequila and cranberry sauce, then top with soda. Stir once, garnish with same grapefruit wedge, and serve immediately.
