Introduction

With this project, you'll end up with two handmade scarves, so you can outfit a cozy couple or wear the matching one yourself.

materials

  • 2 yards of cotton flannel (Pictured: B&J Fabrics plaid cotton flannel, in assorted colors, from $15 per yd., bandjfabrics.com.)

  • Fabric scissors

steps

  1. Cut cotton flannel in half lengthwise (our material is 44 inches wide; plaids and stripes make it a cinch to snip a straight line).

  2. Fray the edges by pulling out a string until you have an inch of fringe on the short sides and about a quarter-inch on the long sides.
