What We Love Most About Jessica Simpson’s Friendsgiving

Besides her special guest, Martha (of course!).

This holiday season, Jessica Simpson isn’t just gathering around the dinner table with loved ones. She’s teaming up with culinary queen, Martha Stewart, and the folks at No Kid Hungry to prepare a festive Friendsgiving feast that gives back. That’s right, in addition to whipping up Martha's favorite creamy green bean casserole and the perfect pumpkin meringue pie, the actress and singer is on a mission to help raise awareness and support the national campaign’s work to end childhood hunger in America.

[WHY: We Eat Green Bean Casserole at Thanksgiving]

After learning that 1 in 6 kids in America is hungry, Simpson knew she needed to find a way to help. “As a mom, there’s nothing more important to me than making sure my kids have the things they need to grow up healthy and strong,” says Simpson, whose Friendsgiving sponsor, Green Giant, will also make a donation of vegetables to New York's local food rescue non-profit, City Harvest. “Nothing makes me happier than being able to give back to such an important cause while celebrating with my friends!”

Wanting to show how easy and fun it is to give back, Simpson will be sharing some of her favorite Martha Thanksgiving recipes and videos to get you inspired (follow @jessicasimpson to stay in the loop!). And if you’re craving to host your own do-good dinner party, visit www.nokidhungry.org/jessica to learn more about how you can help. Don’t forget to tag any pictures with #jessicasfriendsgiving and #NoKidHungry to join in on the fun! Fans and followers are also invited to contribute donations of any amount here to support the cause; a single dollar can connect kids in need to 10 healthy meals.
