Stick-On Art Pumpkins

Temporary tattoos adhere to a pumpkin just like they would to your skin. All you need is a pretty design. Here, a flock of fluttering butterflies and a creepy-crawly scarab would be at home in any cabinet of curiosities.

Introduction

These pumpkins are decorated with easy-to-use temporary tattoos in delicate, stark black designs. For our pumpkins, we selected autumnal motifs like bugs and flowers—but the choice is yours. (Tip: The smaller the design, the easier it is to adhere evenly onto the curved surface of the pumpkin.) You can use your favorite temporary tattoos or print out your own clip-art designs onto tattoo paper (available at stationery stores). Before you begin, prep your pumpkin for a smooth surface by gently cleaning it with a damp cloth.

  1. Remove clear top sheet of temporary tattoo. Press tattoo, design facing down, onto pumpkin's rounded surface. Hold wet cloth against back of tattoo; press down, and make sure to wet paper backing thoroughly. (Note: Be sure to rub into all groves of the gourd.) Wait 30 seconds, then peel off paper backing to reveal adhered design.
