Ladybug Costume

Prep this adorable insect ensemble in the blink of an eyelash: Glue extra large faux strips onto big Jackie O sunglasses, and stick black felt dots on her favorite red jumper.

  • Washable craft glue

  • Large self-adhesive eyelashes (Pictured: Electric Party jumbo black self-adhesive eyelashes, $6 a pair, amazon.com.)

  • Sunglasses (Pictured: XFentech children's polarized round sunglasses, $9.50, amazon.com.)

  • Black chenille pipe cleaners (Pictured: Creativity Street chenille pipe cleaners, 12" by 6mm, in Black, $5 for 100, amazon.com.)

  • Black pom-poms (Pictured: Darice acrylic pom-poms, 2", in Black, $3 for 8, amazon.com.)

  • Black headband (Pictured: Motique Accessories plastic hard headband with teeth, 1", in Black, $6, amazon.com.)

  • Black felt adhesive circles, 3 inches

  • Red dress (Pictured: Primary The New Swing Dress, in Cherry, $24, primary.com.)

  • Black long-sleeve leotard (Pictured: Leotard Boutique black long-sleeve leotard, $18, leotardboutique.com.)

steps

  1. Bug eyes: Glue faux eyelashes onto sunglasses; let dry completely.

  2. Feelers: Twist pairs of pipe cleaners together to make each feeler, and stick wires of each feeler into a pom-pom. Wrap opposite ends of feelers around headband; twist to secure.

  3. Peel backing off circles and stick on dress.
