As we gear up for fall, one of the many things we look forward to-besides shopping for plush sweaters and pumpkin-spice everything-is sprucing up our homes for the new season. And nothing says new look faster (and cheaper) than a fresh coat of paint. To help reinvent your space, paint brands, which have done extensive research and have been busy trend forecasting, will be releasing their new colors for the season. Exciting! [SEE: How Paint Dramatically Transforms This Living Room] Courtesy of Behr First up, is Behr Paint's new 2019 Color of the Year: Blueprint, an eye-catching and versatile blue that radiates positivity. The brand describes the shade as "a midtone blue that's warmer than denim and softer than navy." We're already intrigued. The color (official name Blueprint S470-5) is inspired by the shade architects use to sketch their projects, and similarly, "lays a foundation for consumers to make their unique vision a reality," explains Erika Woelfel, vice president of color at Behr. Courtesy of Behr It's true: Like your favorite jeans, Blueprint acts as a neutral and is the perfect shade to layer or pair with other colors. It's also versatile enough to work in every space in your home, from adding some warmth and welcome to your front door to creating some depth and interest in your kitchen. Another bonus: Incorporating blue paint into your home can increase its value. Courtesy of Behr In addition to Blueprint, Behr also launched four accompanying 2019 color trends. The first one, Color Binge, includes light and dark blues, teals and grays. Inspired Curation consists of jewel tones like dark greens and warm golds. Grays anchor Down to Earth, while warmer tones like terracotta (one of our favorites) takes center stage. And finally, Soft Focus includes muted shades of powder blue, peachy blush, and tinted lilac for that soothing, relaxed vibe. The entire line of Behr's 2019 Color Trends, including its star Blueprint S470-5, is available exclusively at The Home Depot. To learn more visit Behr.com/2019Trends. Was this page helpful?
