Martha's Next-Level Ice Cream Cake Is a Chocoholic's Dream
What makes this frozen dessert so magical? Chocolate three ways!
There's nothing like chocolate to end a meal, and this week on "Martha Bakes," Martha serves up three restaurant-worthy chocolate desserts that are sure to impress. She's not afraid to mix and match chocolates, either-she's working with milk, dark, and white in the latest episode, so be sure to refill your chocolate coffers before trying one of the recipes. Get a sneak peek below, and don't forget to tune in this weekend.
TRIPLE-CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM CAKE
Martha uses the same batter for two chocolate cakes in this artfully designed dessert: one sheet cake and one round. The sheet cake is spread with rich white chocolate ganache, cut into strips, and arranged around the perimeter of the round cake, creating an eye-catching striped effect. And that's not all! Chocolate ice cream and whipped cream go into the center, and the whole thing is embellished with milk chocolate shavings.
S'MORES CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
Dubbed "s'mousse" by Martha, this treat brings together two classic desserts in the most sophisticated way. A graham cracker-and-milk chocolate crust is topped with two equally enticing layers: decadent dark chocolate mousse and toasted marshmallow-esque brûléed meringue. You'll have to invest in some ring molds to create the mini desserts, but the results are totally worth it.
PEANUT BUTTER CUP TART
Like a giant peanut butter cup with the added bonus of a chocolate wafer crust! Peanut butter is enriched with powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla for the filling, then finished with dark chocolate ganache. To create the striking spiral pattern on top you'll need a revolving cake stand and an offset spatula. Serve each slice with a dollop of whipped cream and chunks of peanut brittle.
"Martha Bakes" season 10 airs on PBS stations nationwide (check local listings).
