Start With: Avocado Ranch Dip

A ranch dip that replaces some of the usual buttermilk with creamy avocado really does make vegetables taste better. Provide plenty of carrot, celery, and cucumber sticks, or whatever crunchy veg your family likes, for this delicious dip. If you want to do it like they do in the south, save some dip for your pizza too.

Main: Individual Pizzas

This pizza dough recipe makes 2 pounds of pizza dough, which is perfect because, spoiler, you are going to use the leftover dough for your family’s new favorite pizza dessert.

Preheat your oven to 500°F. Save a quarter of the dough for desert. Divide the remaining dough into 6 pieces. Roll each piece out into a thin round. Let everyone choose their toppings and bake two pizzas at a time on a baking sheet. It usually takes about 10 minutes per sheet, but this can vary depending on the amount of toppings and how well your oven heats, so keep an eye on them. The pizza is done when the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust and bottom are golden.

Side: Arugula Salad with Lemon Dressing

With peppery arugula, a citrusy zing, and mouthwatering Parmesan, this arugula salad is the perfect balance to pizza. Serve it at the table and let everyone decide if it goes on the pizza or the side of their plate.
