Shooting Star Ornaments

Strands of silver tinsel give these showstoppers their holiday shine.

Introduction

These were used to decorate our Celestial Christmas Tree.

materials

  • Papier-mache star ornaments (Pictured: Flat-Back Papier Mache Star Ornament, $1.49, factorydirectcraft.com)

  • Tinsel (Pictured: Silver 18-inch Icicle Tinsel Garland, $2.49, bronners.com)

  • Silver spray paint (Pictured: Krylon Premium Metallic Spray Paint in Sterling Silver, $6, dickblick.com)

  • Scissors

  • Hot-glue gun

steps

  1. Spray-paint star ornament in silver; let dry completely. (Editor's Note: Always work in a well-ventilated area, wearing goggles and a dust face mask to avoid breathing in fumes.)

  2. Cut strands of tinsel to desired length. Affix to the back of star ornament with a dab of hot glue; let dry before hanging on tree.
