Glittered Crystal-Encrusted Pumpkin
Go glitzy instead of ghoulish this Halloween. We spritzed this black pumpkin with a coat of shimmery spray paint, then gave it a glittered top with silver accents: sequins, rhinestones, and crystals. In a word? Glamorous.

This idea comes from Digital Editor Alexandra Churchill. We used a black-colored craft pumpkin, but an ordinary pumpkin can be spray-painted black if desired. Tip: Inexpensive hairspray can seal a glittered item. Spray it lightly over the surface and it will help the glitter stay on longer.
Cover the top of pumpkin with metallic silver spray paint, centered on the stem; let dry completely.
Cover the spray-painted top of the pumpkin with spray adhesive; then sprinkle with spoonfuls of silver glitter silver glitter; let dry. Tap off any excess glitter. Repeat gluing and glittering process on top surface of pumpkin until coverage is desired.
Decorate base of the stem with assorted sequins, rhinestones, and flat-back crystals, using tweezers and a dab of hot-glue to affix each one into place. (Tip: We used varied sizes of embellishments to achieve this dimensional look.)
