To assemble the tiled template — its size is based on a 30-inch-wide window — reduce or enlarge to your window.

  • Heavyweight black paper
  • Painters' tape
  • Craft knife

  1. Download and print our template. Using image in template as a guide, lay template out on a work space.
  2. Assemble bat template: trim left side of each sheet at vertical crop marks with a ruler and a craft knife. Repeat process to trim bottom of each sheet. Using remaining crop marks as a guide, align design and tape sheets together. Trace one-half of bat, then flip template to trace other side.
  3. Trace bat onto a 24-by-36-inch piece of heavyweight black paper.
  4. Cut out (trimming width as needed to fit window).
  5. Stick shade to inside of window frame with loops of painters’ tape.
