Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star! Angelique Cabral's Baby Shower is Inspired by "Celestial Elegance"
Plus, a sweet idea we love: her DIY headband bar.
Life's little gifts often call for the biggest celebrations. When Life in Pieces actress Angelique Cabral and her husband Jason Osborn found out they'd be having a little girl, a special baby shower was in order. But for Cabral, this didn't just mean having a long guest list (with all loved ones in tow); rather, it was an afternoon filled with love, laughs, and memorable details that made for unforgettable moments.
From treat-filled party bags to a girls-only brunch, Cabral wanted the party to be unique yet sweet, starting with the decor. "It was the Pinterest dream!" she tells Martha Stewart Living. With soft pinks, gold stars, glittery moons, and cozy sheepskins, the vibe was feminine yet fun. "It was what I like to call 'celestial chic' or 'boho elegant,'" says Cabral.
The actress also admitted wanting to skip out on traditional "baby-themed" decor and activities like opening gifts and playing games. Instead, every house in Cabral's Hollywood Hills home was transformed into a different creative station, from DIYs to photo booths (#BabyGirlOsborn!) "I loved how my shower flowed: every room had something new to discover, and we utilized my whole house including my outdoor living area."
Guests feasted on a spread by Joan's on Third featuring savory quiches, assorted greens and grain salads, and fresh fruit. For dessert, cookies from The Cookie Munsters and a pretty celestial cake courtesy of Cakes by Claritza were on hand. Once tummies were full, Cabral and her ladies were all hands-on with craft projects. "My hosts set up the cutest Etsy-inspired DIY headband station outside on my deck, where the guests could make headbands for Baby Osborn and write her a personalized note."
For chat breaks, the girls chilled in the nursery which had been turned into a charming champagne lounge with help from @littlespoon. "There was a beautiful, chic, wood sign outside that set the theme by Paper & Lattes and incredible balloons all over by Balloon-a-tic that made the vibe so fun!"
Each guest went home with goodie bags complete with personalized "twinkle twinkle little star" candles, a variety of bows for baby girls, and handmade cotton candy pops. But despite all the day's darling details and party sweets and treats, Cabral says what truly made the day incredible was the people she celebrated with. "It was all the women who came to shower me and Baby Girl Osborn with love. I have such amazing, supportive, strong friends, and the day was perfect because of them. I have never felt so loved or blessed!"
