It's a Bat Mitzvah! Copper and Pink Make It an Unforgettable Day

In this important coming-of-age ceremony, a geometrically-designed bat mitzvah by Jessica Boskoff of Twenty Three Layers, combines copper and pink to make one New York City girl very happy.

An Elegant Space

The geometric design is one of Twenty Three Layers favorite to execute – and for this very special Bat Mitzvah, it was a perfect fit!

It's every event designers dream to have a raw space to transform and with its large industrial space and tons of natural sunlight, the Hudson Mercantile definitely delivered. One major cool factor of the space is that the first floor has a large freight elevator, which allowed for a food truck to drive into the venue and deliver some late night treats.

Save The Date

The save the date cards by Ceci New York were a perfect foreshadowing of what was to come with its border of geometric shapes.

The Ceremony

For the beginning of the celebration, guests sat in copper chairs and looked onto the stage as the Bat Mitzvah girl became a woman next to a beautiful floral display of roses.

Creative Dining

Food stations by Pinch Food Design were a perfect fit for the celebration as they offered the taste of something new and unpredictable -- great food presented creatively. The dining options included a slider station, steamed bun station, a floating small plate station (chicken, beef, and pasta) and, a favorite among guests, the gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches served on custom ironing boards. So fun! For dessert from Pinch, there were warm churros hanging off of umbrellas.

Adding a special touch to the stations, menu vinyl's were created and lined the wall. Saving the best for last, on the way out, guests were able to grab some popcorn from the food truck that was rolled into the venue for late night treats.

Pretty in Pink

A picture-perfect bar was outfitted with a pink M for Mia and a list of delicious cocktails.

Macaron Cart

For dessert, guests were delighted by a cart serving macarons catered by By Woops, which was beautifully draped with vines and flowers. The macarons came in four delectable flavors: Passion Fruit, Vanilla, Salted Caramel, and Nutella.

A Touch of Roses

The room was tastefully decorated with luscious green vines and pale florals with pink and orange roses in abundance thanks to Van Vliet & Trap.

Picture Perfect

A glam bar was set up to help guests get photo-ready for their close-ups at the custom photo booth. Stylists were on hand to apply flash + tattly tattoos and airbrush tattoos. They also offered feather lashes and eye rocks.

Comfort and Class

Vintage rental company, Rent Patina, was on hand to supply all the beautiful furniture rentals. The copper chargers on the tables were rented from CB2, which tied the table's decor together.

Parting Gift

Guest went home with a cute M monogrammed tote, which included custom sweatpants with the monogram and a pair of dancing socks.
