Typography Easter Eggs

This idea comes from our friend Anusha Rajeswaran of Fish & Bull. These modern Easter eggs are bright and colorful, and easy to personalize with your own message. Decorate them individually as monogrammed place cards for guests and or display them together for a bold centerpiece at the Sunday table.

What You'll Need

Materials

  • White eggs
  • Alphabet stickers
  • Food dye
  • Water
  • White vinegar
  • Plastic gloves
  • Jar or bowl
  • Optional: Egg-Drying Rack

Instructions

    Mix 1 teaspoon of vinegar and 20 drops of food coloring in 1 cup of hot water. Use a heatproof bowl or jar that will be deep enough to let you submerge the egg completely.

  2. Place a letter sticker on the egg, smoothing down the edges.

    Submerge the egg in the dye bath for about 5 minutes and let dry completely.

    Peel the sticker off. (Tip: If there are any accidental dye spots on the letter, you can touch it up with white acrylic paint.)
