Our favorite vehicle for turmeric is this Ayurvedic-inspired golden latte, which is blended with ginger, cinnamon, honey, coconut oil, and unsweetened almond milk.

Cook's Notes

Homemade almond milk takes this simple recipe to the next level: Soak 1 cup raw almonds overnight in a bowl of water in the refrigerator; drain. Add to a blender along with three cups of fresh water. Blend on high speed for one minute. Strain through a fine sieve lined with cheesecloth or a nut bag. The almond milk will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

      1. The flavor of coconut oil is great. 2. Turmeric is fat soluble so better absorbed with fat. Also, someone mentioned adding pepper will boost the body’s absorbtion of turmeric

I love the taste of the combined spices and have only had this beverage warmed but imagine I will enjoy it chilled during the Summer months. I tried adding a 1/2 teaspoon of matcha powder to the dry ingredients when I needed a boost of energy. Cashew milk froths much better than almond milk, so I substitute it for the almond.

I am very new to this kind of beverage. Why the coconut oil? As I use only dairy alternatives, this would be ideal for replacing my PM coffee. I agree with the cashew beverage! I will look for a reply c/o the oil. Thanx in advance!raf halfnelson47@gmail.com

Adding a couple of grinds of black pepper while simmering will increase the benefits of turmeric significantly.
