Greenhouse or Office? This Coworking Space Combines the Best of Both

You'll want to rethink your office decor after seeing this.

Once you see the unique coworking space at Second Home Lisboa, you'll wish you could work there...even live there. This shared work environment certainly lives up to its name.

The stunning Second Home space is filled with more than 1,000 plants, making it look more like a greenhouse than an office. Instead of cubicle walls, the company uses greenery to divide up work areas, giving members privacy and a lively, colorful view. The plants are placed on top of the chic modern desks and in between various pieces of furniture, creating a one-of-a-kind work experience.

The bad news? This plant-filled Second Home office is located in Lisbon, Portugal. The good news? It's easy to transform your own workspace into a nature-filled haven, regardless of the growing conditions.

If you have low light in your office, a snake plant or peace lily would make a perfect addition to the room. Another option is to build your own terrarium (or a few!) to decorate your desk.

On the other hand, areas with diffused or indirect light make a good environment for orchids, while bright, direct sun is great for indoor citrus trees.

In addition to brightening up the room with color, plants can also create a better work environment. According to Science Daily, research has shown workers are more productive and can concentrate better when there are plants in the office. Greenery has even been linked to improved job satisfaction! If that doesn't convince you to decorate your office like a greenhouse, we don't know what will.
