This idea comes from our friend Rebekah Lowin. She uses a 3-ingredient recipe of rolled oats, canned pumpkin, and organic peanut butter: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put 1 1/2 cups rolled oats in a food processor and pulse until they become a fine powder. Add 1/3 cup canned pumpkin and 1/3 cup natural peanut butter, mix, and let chill for 20 minutes in the refrigerator. Roll out dough and cut using a heart-shaped cookie cutter; bake for 35 minutes. Note: Be sure to check with your veterinarian to rule out any food allergies or sensitivities before making home-baked treats of any kind for your pet.

Prepare dog treat recipe, using heart-shaped cookie cutters.
While your dog treats cool, assemble the gift packaging. Write a message to your pup recipient (adding paws-itively hilarious puns for good measure) using the chalk marker, then adhere the label to the jar.
Fill the jar with treats, and you're ready to gift.
