Custom Painted Shoes for the Graduate with Personality

How do you tell one graduate from another in a sea of identical gowns? You let his or her personality shine through other ways!

Want to really kick up your graduation day look? Follow our quick painting tips: Keep the soles splatter-free by covering them with tape before painting. Paint pops when you use it in unexpected spots, such as the outsole and heel as pictured here. Shoelaces in matching colors help finish off the pair.

  1. Cover a work surface with newspaper.
  2. Using the angled brush, carefully apply two coats of craft paint to the outer edges of the soles of each shoe.
  3. Let paint completely dry for at least 24 hours before wearing.
