The recipe makes more sauce than you'll need; freeze the extra in an airtight container. You can also make this dish with 3 cups of jarred sauce (skip step 1). When storing the meatballs in an airtight container, layer them between waxed or parchment paper. Then take out what you need for a particular recipe.
