Upgrade Inexpensive Champagne Glasses with Handpainted Stripes

Here's a project you can really toast to! Color-blocking inexpensive Champagne flutes will add a touch of flair to your next celebration.

  • Clear Champagne flutes or clear drinking glasses of your choice

  • Martha Stewart Crafts stencil tape

  • Martha Stewart Crafts Liquid Gilding in Copper

  • Martha Stewart Crafts basic brush set

  • Martha Stewart Crafts paint in Wild Blueberry

  • X-Acto knife


  1. Use the stencil tape to mark off the bottom half of the glass and paint the bottom half with two coats of Liquid Gilding in Copper.

  2. Allow the gilding to completely dry, then tape off the second section just above the Copper.

  3. Paint the section above in Wild Blueberry and add a second coat once dry.

  4. Once the second coat is dry, use the X-Acto knife to carefully separate the tape from the paint for a clean edge.
