    It was good and VERY easy, but I will use less sugar next time.

      Agree with both comments. Add butter to phyllo first, but doesn't have to cover the entire sheet. Definitely use less sugar, 3/4 Cup max. Possible to use different pans, just be sure to leave enough phyllo above the surface of the custard for texture difference. A little custard goes a long way. Any phyllo covered by the custard will get soft.

    This recipe leaves out the important step of brushing each phyllo sheet with the clarified butter before folding.
