Tools and Materials for Beaded Ornaments
We used mainly metal and silver-lined glass beads to make these decorations. You can tint glass beads with an alcohol-based art marker (this is how we made the pink snowflakes).
It's important to use the correct gauge wire for each project. We used a variety of gauges, ranging from 20 to 30. (Note: The higher the gauge number, the thinner the wire.)
Pliers and Cutters
We used round-nose pliers, wire cutters, and chain-nose pliers to create the ornaments. Round-nose pliers are good for making looped ends on wires and for pulling wire through beads. Cutters make it easy to trim wire. Chain-nose pliers are flat-jawed and are great for gripping and bending wire.
