Using Shaker Peg Rails to Display Art

Shaker peg rails are already staples in many mudrooms and entryways for holding coats and bags, but these sturdy racks can also host a rotating display of art.

You can still use the pegs for hanging coats and other belongings. Hang permanent pieces on the wall near the leaning frames.

Create a gallery by resting a few framed photos or artworks of varying sizes on top of the pegs, leaning them against the wall. Don’t be afraid to layer one frame in front of another, or to hang a few frames on the wall to give the collection depth and height. For a unified look, stick to art within a particular color palette or style, such as black-and-white photographs or watercolors.
