steps

  1. Using a large utility brush, paint the wooden plaque with Martha Stewart Crafts Chalkboard Paint in Black. Let dry completely before painting a second coat.

  2. After the second coat of chalkboard paint is completely dry, condition the chalkboard by rubbing the entire surface with a piece of chalk. Wipe away excess with a dry paper towel before proceeding to the next step.

  3. To stencil/silkscreen "Happy Halloween," use the Bodoni Alphabet Adhesive Silkscreen and the Erasable Liquid Chalk. Remove the silkscreen and cut apart the letters to spell the words and lightly pounce the Erasable Liquid Chalk over the silkscreen. Repeat the above steps to spell "spoooooooky treats" with the Striped Alphabet Adhesive Silkscreen.

  4. To finish your craft, add freehand details (like an arrow or a tombstone outline) with a piece of chalk.
