When handling unbaked clay, wear rubber gloves to minimize fingerprints and marks. Prepare a mold.

Cut a 1/16-inch-thick piece of conditioned clay slightly larger than the desired size of the final piece.

Press clay into mold, refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes to harden, and invert onto a parchment-lined baking sheet; use a cookie cutter to create the border shape.

In lieu of a mold, make impressions with wax seals. Press seal into a piece of conditioned 1/16-inch-thick clay, then cut out the image with a cutter that fits around impression.

Remove excess clay, and bake on parchment.

Use a pointed tool to make a hole before baking. Add a jump ring to make a pendant.
