At first, all I tasted was the tahini, but I got used to it and ended up really enjoying this smoothie. For everyone that is looking for ideas for all that left over tahini: use it to make your own hummus, salad dressing, asian sauce for noodles, or in a marinade for meats.

tasted a little too tahini-y for me at first (and I am Middle Eastern and love tahini) so I added a little more water and half a banana for a little more substance. Sipping on it as we speak - delicious and refreshing! never would have thought to use tahini

The recipe was pretty good but my sister and I are in agreement that tahini is an acquired taste (sort of earthy, clean dirt taste) as well as being expensive. Also I am left with a whole jar of it left over, I have been eating it with pears which is pretty good :)

I was really nervous about the recipe. I thought the combination of mango and tahini was odd, but for me it totally worked. I think this is my new favorite smoothie.

My favorite smoothie recipe ever...its definitely getting me through my first week of detox. I was nervous as I'm not a fan of tahini but it doesn't bother me (although my boyfriend does say tastes like drinking Chinese food....?) in this. I do substitute green tea for the water, just because I'm a 12 cup a day coffee drinker and need the caffeine

I also added almond butter instead of tahini and increased to 3/4 cup of water since the smoothie was pretty thick. Not my favourite recipe but it won't prevent me from carrying on.

Not sure why they chose tahini for this fruit recipe ... even when I was adding it I thought, "This shouldn't go together." While I am drinking it, I am looking for an alternative to tahini. I understand we are cutting out animal products the first week like dairy, maybe freeze rice or coconut milk to add thickness. Hmm ...

This was a delicious way to start the detox! I will definitely make this again, and I was thrilled that the slightly thawed mango made perfect finger food for my baby!
