Angel-vine balls, 2" and 4" diameter, from $7 for 6,

  • Angel-vine balls

  • Pliers

  • Terrarium plants and succulents

  • Extra soil (if needed)

  • Wire cutters

  1. With your thumbs, dig into each ball to spread vines apart. With pliers, reach in and pull out pieces from center, creating a hollow.

  2. Place a plant in hollow. With a 4-inch ball, press plug of soil into hole, adding more soil if needed. With a 2-inch ball, use a succulent that doesn’t require much soil.

  3. With wire cutters, cut away about 6 inches of wire encasing vine ball. Thread it through vine next to hole; twist to secure. Repeat with other end of wire on other side of hole, creating a handle/hook.
