Today's Guests, Products, and Services

Conan O'Brien
Conan O'Brien's red hair is as recognizable a trademark as his brand of humor. Conan began his TV career as a writer for a yellow- and blue-haired TV family: the Simpsons; he became one of the most recognized comedians when he took on the job of hosting "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." He's already spent time with Martha grooming horses and making baked Alaska; today, he visits to mix up a batch of homemade play dough for his daughter.

Rhode Island Redhead Contest
Every year, Lebanon, Tennessee, holds its Rhode Island Redhead Contest. To win the prize of a $25 gift certificate, a plaque, and bragging rights until next year, contestants match their hair color against the bright, fiery feathers of a Rhode Island red rooster. Whoever comes closest wins.

Cooking with Mario Batali
Chef Mario Battali, of Babbo, Lupa, Esca, Del Posto, and other successful restaurants, visits to celebrate Redhead Day. For the occasion, Mario replaces his usual orange clogs with a pair of new red clogs, talks about his restaurants, and prepares a savory Spicy Sicilian Chicken and a delicately sweet Cherry Jam Tart.

"The Roots of Desire" with Marion Roach
Red-haired Marion Roach, the author of "The Roots of Desire," uncovered some unusual myths and old wives' tales about redheads when she did research for the book. Today on Martha, Marion shares some of them: that some people once thought that redheads became vampires after they died, for instance. Or that redheads were burned at the stake for being witches during the Spanish Inquisition. Or that a scientific study once concluded that redheads make the best waitresses. Marion joins Martha to talk about these misconceptions, as well as the science behind why people have red hair.

Makeover with Eva Scrivo
In her family, Rebecca Jankowitz continues to stand out. Rebecca is the only one in her family -- and the only one in the audience today -- who doesn't have red hair. Eva Scrivo, Martha's hairstylist, will change all that when she gives Rebecca's tresses a new color and hair tips for all readheads. Eva is the owner of one of New York City's most popular salons, catering to clients such as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hillary Clinton, and Lauren Hutton.

Special thanks to Chico's, which sells exclusively designed, private-label women's clothing and related accessories.
