Emeril Lagasse
Emeril Lagasse was born in Fall River, Massachusetts; as a teenager, he worked at a Portuguese bakery where he mastered bread and pastry baking. After graduating form Johnson and Wales in 1978, Emeril traveled to Paris and Lyon where he polished his skills and learned the art of classic French cuisine. Returning to the United States, Emeril moved to New Orleans at age 26 and established his stardom at the city's legendary restaurant Commander's Palace. Today, he joins Martha to make Poached Oysters in Pernod Cream and Seared Magret Duck Breast, and to celebrate joining Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, which bought the rights to the Emeril Lagasse franchise of cookbooks, television shows, and kitchen products.
The Emeril Lagasse Foundation
The Emeril Lagasse Foundation seeks to inspire, mentor, and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive and creative individuals. The foundation supports and encourages programs creating developmental and educational opportunities for children within communities where Emeril's restaurants operate.
