Dreamers into Doers
This Dreamers into Doers contest is for women who have transformed their hobbies into successful careers. Submit an essay by July 11, 2008, explaining how you or someone you know has turned a dream or hobby into a career. The grand-prize winner will receive $10,000, vacations for a lifetime, and a trip to New York City where they will be featured on "The Martha Stewart Show." Jeff Bezos
Jeff Bezos was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and raised in Texas and Florida. Jeff excelled as a student from a young age, and graduated summa cum laude from Princeton. While conducting research in 1994, Bezos devised the idea of selling books on the Internet. Bezos founded amazon.com in 1994 after making a cross-country drive from New York to Seattle, writing up the Amazon business plan on the way and setting up the original company in his garage. His work with Amazon eventually led him to become one of the most prominent dot-com entrepreneurs. Jeff joins Martha to chat about Amazon and its newest wireless reading device, the Kindle.

Diana Levinson
Diana Levinson is an abstract expressionist artist who works with oil paints, collages, and prints. Diana joins Martha to showcase three pieces of art (Print: Halo Lidio, Paintings: Cadence, and Recent Works: Untitled C1-08), which can be found at dianalevinson.com. Diana's prints can be found at Pace Gallery in New York City and her oil paintings are represented by Eckert Fine Art.

Jeffrey Banks
Jeffrey Banks, a fashion designer and collector of tartan objects, joins Martha to make a tartan footstool and to chat about his book, "Tartan: Romancing the Plaid" which was given to our studio audience.

Rosie Swale Pope
Rosie Swale Pope, a runner from the United Kingdom, has been jogging around the world since October 2003 to raise cancer awareness. To track her travels around the world, visit her blog.
