On Today's Show

Barry Manilow
With worldwide sales of more than 75 million records, the success of Barry Manilow is a benchmark in popular music. Barry began playing piano and accordion at age 7 and following high school, he was accepted to the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, which he paid for by working in the CBS mail room. From there, he became musical director of the CBS show "Callback," and supported himself for the next few years by writing, producing, and performing advertising jingles. Since then, he has risen to fame with a string of Billboard hit singles and multiplatinum albums, and is now ranked as the top Adult Contemporary chart artist of all time. Today, Barry sings two songs from his latest album, "The Greatest Songs of the Seventies."
