First published: December 2005 1.12/14/07 at 12:43 a.m. ETYou won't believe, but on the second batch i ran out of butter, and so i used margarine( I have no idea why i have it in my refrigerator, Inever use it! ) But the dough was much nicer to work with, and the icing recipe i found is just 4 egg whites, 4 cups powdered sugar and a drop of extract, i used peppermint oil, yum! No mereingue powder, no problem PERFECT! 2.12/13/07 at 9:11 a.m. ETWe have made gingerbread houses as gifts for teachers when our oldest two were in preschool. Our oldest is in fifth grade now, so it has become a tradition. We have fun , eat some candy and talk about the teachers and it helps to build respect for them and a great time to talk to your kids about all kinds of things as you work together! Can't wait to try a new dough recipe!! thank you! 3.11/27/07 at 3:14 p.m. ETMy two girls - ages 3 and 2 and I have been working on the gingerbread recipe all day,( baking time and diaper duty involved) we might get around to decorating our houses tonight. I'm so excited to see how they turn out! |
