For each turkey coloring-book place card, you will need to trace two turkeys onto black construction paper and four onto white construction paper. Cut out the turkeys, making the white turkeys slightly smaller. The black turkeys serve as the front and back cover, and the white turkeys will be the pages of the coloring book.
To make the cover of the coloring book, use a glue stick to glue the head, chest, and feet of one white turkey to one black turkey. Do not glue the feathers of the turkey (the head and chest area serve as the binding, the feet as the stand, and the feathers as the pages of the coloring book). Glue the second white turkey to the first in the same manner.
Position the second black turkey shape so it's facing the first one. Glue in remaining two white shapes to the second black turkey, leaving the feathers free.
Glue the heads and chests of the two halves together, leaving the ankles, feet, and feathers unglued.
Fan out the feather pages. Separate the feet and fold the legs up at the ankles, and so that the turkey can stand. Use a white pencil to write the child's name on the body of the turkey.
Make a crayon bundle for each place setting. Cut a piece of brown kraft paper to 2 by 4 inches. Wrap kraft paper around a bundle of 5 crayons. Tie with waxed twine.
