Stained-glass artist Daniel Maher has restored historical pieces by Louis Comfort Tiffany, but he has also made windows out of busted bourbon bottles and kitschy corn-on-the-cob plates.

Indeed, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based artist has an entire series of panels called Housewares Graveyard, featuring rich jewel tones and sparkly facets, all predominantly cobbled together from scraps of cut-glass bowls and plates, Depression glass objects, and almost any other shard that he's come across over the past 15 years. Where does he get his supply? From the shelves of his local Salvation Army, a regular stop when he walks his dog.
