DIY Custom Window Shade
Whether you have an odd-shaped window or want to use a pretty fabric, try this easy how-to for a window treatment. It's a quick and inexpensive way to get the look of a Roman shade.
- Measure fabric to fit the inside of the window, adding a few inches to the height, for sewing channels at the bottom and top, and 1 inch for sewing side seams.
- Machine-sew the hems and seams, and then slip tension rods through the channels.
- Once the top rod is in place, you can adjust the amount of light in the room with the bottom rod.
