A wooden boundary gives a plant bed a tidy look.
Tools and Materials
- Four wooden two-by-fours (2 cut to the length of your bed, and 2 cut to its width)
- Shovel or trowel
- 4 wooden 24-inch-long 2-by-2-inch stakes
- Framing hammer
- Heavy-duty hand saw
- Drill
- 8 exterior wood screws
How-To
1. Using 1 length of wood as a straightedge, dig a shallow, narrow trench for each two-by-four so that 1 inch of the edging will sit aboveground. Drop in the two-by-fours.
2. Fit a stake into a corner, and pound into the ground until at least 10 inches of stake is in the soil. Repeat at each corner.
3. Saw excess off stakes to create a flush edge with the two-by-fours.
4. Using drill, screw in 2 wood screws at each corner to stabilize.
