- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups long-grain white rice
- Pinch of coarse salt
- In a large heavy saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add rice, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low; stir in 2 cups water. Cook, covered, for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to low; cook, covered, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, uncover, and fluff rice with fork; let stand 5 minutes before serving.
