Cluster flowers in a narrow cylinder, which gives structure to the arrangement while letting the stems fall into a graceful shape, and then hide the cylinder inside a wider, taller container.
This is also a good way to protect the inside of a delicate vase or display flowers in a vessel that's not watertight.
