Simple Poached Cherries

Yield Makes about 3 cups

Ingredients

    • 2 pounds Bing cherries, pitted
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/4 cup black-cherry concentrate

Directions

  1. Combine the cherries, sugar, and black-cherry concentrate in a medium saucepan. Cover, and place over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until cherries are tender, about 15 minutes. Transfer to an airtight container, and refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour and up to overnight.
