Cilantro Negroni

All kinds of cocktails perk up when herbs are added to the mix. The key to extracting the herbs' flavors and fragrant oils is muddling -- done with a traditional bar tool (that's similar to a mortar and pestle but gentler on delicate leaves) or the end of a wooden spoon.

Ingredients

    • 3 cilantro sprigs
    • 1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar
    • 1 orange wedge
    • 2 ounces Campari
    • Ice
    • 4 ounces club soda

Directions

  1. Muddle cilantro sprigs with sugar and orange wedge in a glass. Add Campari and ice. Add club soda. Stir.
