- For each trivet, you'll need two or three pieces of cork cut from a roll of thin bulletin-board cork, available at your local stationers; measure cork to fit trimly inside a set of matching napkins.
- Paste the cork layers together with white craft glue.
- Sew napkins together along three sides, keeping stitches close to the edge so as not to compete with the design; slide the cork in on the open side.
- Remove cork after dinner, and launder the napkins with other table linens.
