The twelve dancers form two circles of six, one inner, one outer. The dancers in the outer circle remain stationary, while the dancers in the inner circle skip around the pole, each keeping an even distance from the dancer ahead. After the streamers held by the inner circle have been wound around the pole, the inner circle dancers stand still.
At this point, the dancers in the outer circle repeat the dance around the pole in the opposite direction, creating an overlapping layer of ribbon. Once the outer circle is complete, the outer circle dancers reverse direction and unwind their ribbons, and then the inner circle dancers unwind theirs.
