If you are living out west where the days are really hot and the nights get very cool, succulents are a beautiful plant to showcase.
Succulents are plants that store their water in their stems, leaves, and roots, causing their "succulence." Succulents have evolved in the desert and need direct sunlight; since the temperature in the desert drops at night, they are able to handle cool nights.

2. Water infrequently -- once every 10 days to two weeks.
3. Fertilize sparingly.
4. Succulents can handle temperature fluctuations, but don't allow them to freeze.
