Former Marine Sgt. Colin Archipley and his wife, Karen, turned their small farm in Escondido, California, into Archi’s Acres -- a hydroponic and organic farm that grows basil, kale, chard, and red bell peppers. Their success in agriculture coupled with their desire to stay connected to the military sparked the launch of the Veterans Sustainability Agriculture Training (VSAT) program, where they train transitioning military members for careers in sustainable agriculture.
