A former anchor and reporter at New York's WNYW-TV and WCBS-TV, Mario has more than 30 years of experience in television and radio broadcasting. He was recognized by the City of New York for his contributions to media. He was also honored by former President George Bush and Americares for his work covering the Colombia earthquake. 

In addition, Mario is the author of "The Chalupa Rules," a collection of insights inspired by traditional Spanish proverbs, and a playwright. He was a featured guest performer in "Latinologues" on Broadway. He shares his home in New York City with his dog, Forrest, and a pair of African Grey Parrots, Dusty and Becky.

Mario is host of "Living Today" on Martha Stewart Living Radio (Sirius 112 and XM 157). The show has been nominated by the James Beard Foundation for Excellence in Broadcasting. Mario has years of experience in home decorating, gardening, and pet care. 

He loves hosting parties in his home -- ranging from intimate cocktail parties to fabulous fiestas -- and every soiree features hearty Mexican food, homemade desserts, and special details that make it a unique celebration. Mario always finds inspiration and wonderful ideas in Martha Stewart's timeless, innovative approach to good living.
