Charles Phoenix
Charles Phoenix loves the world of mid-century design and American culture. He is known for his live comedy retro slide shows, school-bus field-trip tours, and colorful coffee-table books. Today, Charles joins Martha to show us his Halloween slides and to talk about his newest book, "Americana the Beautiful: Mid-Century Culture in Kodachrome," published by Angel City Press. His other books celebrate 1950s-era American road trips, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Southern California, and the Pomona Valley. Special thanks to zanzabelle.net for helping bring Charles to "The Martha Stewart Show."
Brian Walak, Baker of the Wii Cake
Special thanks to caller Brian Walak, who was so inspired by the cover of the August issue of Wired magazine, which featured Martha with a Nintendo Wii cake, that he baked his own Wii cake for his company bake sale.
